Information is needed about David Zelinski 1958-1961-

I am David Zelinski. My father David M. Zelinski (Jersey City, New Jersey) served with the 299th, A Company "Rock's Rangers" from Oct. 1958 to Dec. 1961 and participated in "Winter Shield I" and Winter Shield II"

He was assigned to vehicle unit "A-9-A" which consisted of a International Harvester TD-18 Cable Reel Control Dozer, Tractor and Low Boy Trailer.

I am trying to scratch build a plastic 1/35th scale model of this unit out of many different model kits but have no pictures of the rig to go by. All of Dad's pictures have been lost or destroyed over the years.

I would like to complete this model and give it to him for his birthday this July.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please contact me at: gocaps@cox.net

Best wishes,

EMC(SW/AW) David E. Zelinski, USN

299th Hoechst from 1961 - 1963 -

I was the Hq company clerk. Fondly remember two 1st Sgts. One was Sgt Tomzak. I do not remember the other who followed. I do remember Whiskey Joe's Traveling Circus and believe that was during Wildflicken I. I also remember several stints for "training" at Grafenwier? near the East German border. Anyone else there during that time remember the tall company clerk of Hq Co who organized trips with American Express to Paris, Brussells and our mountain ski retreat.
